12th ICCEC in Washington
The 12th International Conference on Clinical Ethics and Consultation had the theme “Caring for the Ethically Complicated Patient”, and was hosted by The Center for Ethics at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, USA, on May 19-22, 2016.
The conference has drawn participation from around the globe and showcase the complexities of clinical ethics from various international locations. The focus for this meeting, “Caring for the Ethically Complicated Patient” affected all practicing clinical ethicists and healthcare practitioners. Presentations addressed management and caring for these patients through case presentations, panel discussions, general sessions, and individual paper sessions. Additionally, keynote lectures featured individual presentations from Drs. Daniel Callahan and Anne Marie Slowther, pioneers in bioethics and world renowned authors. ICCEC 2016’s mission was to bring together diverse members from the healthcare team in order to improve the treatment of patients and provide a positive impact on the global healthcare community.
